Is a Bachelors degree in Culinary arts worth it?
I've had 3 years of experience in the field. 2 years as a prep cook and 1 year as a line cook. I was a line cook while doing my diploma. Currently I'm interning at hotel kitchen.
My college has offered me a 50% scholarship to further my studies for a Degree in Culinary arts. I need the view of professional chefs towards this. Is it really worth the ii years of caste studies or should I but continue working?

I dont have a degree but did 1 year of culinary schoolhouse....I've been applying to some more than managerial/caput chef jobs. They normally say they adopt culinary degree but ive found your piece of work resume seems to matter more than. May help with pay in some circumstances. I know atleast one chore I was started at a higher wage due to attention school.

I became close with some of my cohorts and discovered a chef mentor during my time in school. To me culinary schoolhouse was a identify where I could take the pressure off of cooking and discover my ain personal relationship with cooking. What are the things I'grand personally drawn to? What techniques do I want to learn more about or value? Can you find those aforementioned thing in any kitchen you work in? Maybe, simply non ever. The downside is the fact that it is schoolhouse. You will have homework and deadlines. That can make an educational experience feel similar a chore. Especially if you compare getting the aforementioned experience to a job that could do the same thing and go paid while you lot're at information technology.
